Ease of Use

Backup software is only useful when people feel confident using it.  Fast-Backup keeps the everyday process clear while still providing useful options when they are needed.

Choose Where to Copy From and To

To begin, choose the folder or drive you want to copy in the From box, then choose the backup location in the To box.  Check the destination and select Start.

The first run creates the complete backup.  Later runs normally copy only files that have changed, making it easier to keep the backup up to date.

Checks Before the Backup Starts

Fast-Backup checks the source and destination before starting, helping prevent costly folder and drive-selection mistakes.

It warns you about potentially dangerous choices, such as selecting the same or overlapping locations, before any files are copied or deleted.

Run the Same Backup Again

By default, Fast-Backup saves the job in a _FAST-BACKUP folder on the destination drive.  To repeat the backup with the same locations and settings, open that folder and double-click the Fast-Backup icon.

Useful Options Without Unnecessary Complexity

The main window provides options for keeping older versions, including hidden or system files, excluding folders and controlling backup speed.  The normal settings are suitable for a straightforward backup, so these choices can be left alone until they are needed.

Clear Feedback

Fast-Backup shows its progress while it works and records a log of the backup.  If sound is enabled, two short high beeps signal success and one long low beep signals failure.

Designed to Stay Out of the Way

Fast-Backup focuses on copying files from one place to another without adding unnecessary steps.  That makes it suitable for everyday backups to USB drives, other drives, computers and servers.
